NDT Services
Non-Destructive Metal Testing, often referred to as NDT, is a set of inspection techniques used to evaluate materials, components, and structures without causing any damage. NDT plays a main role in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul at Hedinger MRO AG with following techniques:
- Eddy Current Testing (ET)
An electromagnetic technique perfectly suited to inspect non-ferromagnetic materials for near-surface and surface-breaking defects. It is widely used during both manufacturing and MRO work to detect fabrication flaws or fatigue-related defects such as cracking or corrosion found in multi-layered aluminum structures. - Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
Also known as Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI), is a widely used non-destructive testing method for detecting surface-breaking defects in non-porous materials. - Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
This method of NDT inspection allows us to utilize generated magnetic flux to detect surface breaking and near surface flaws on components, evident even if the defect opening is very narrow. - Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
This is a technique used to inspect materials and components for internal flaws or thickness measurements without causing any damage. High-frequency sound waves are transmitted into the material, and the reflections of these waves from defects or material boundaries are analyzed to detect cracks, voids, or inclusions.
